2005
Velvet began year 2005 wholesale, on the first show in February he got CAC
and finished Czech Champion.Succeses continue. Our breeding group got first place at an internat.show
in Munich, Germany!

In April Velvet got his first CACIB ever in Berlin from judge H. Vogt, D.
On the same show got our breeding group second place and Viking VDH Anwartschaft.

In May Velvet and Victoria made hunting exminations.
Velvet 1st place and 1st prize, CACT and Victoria 2nd prize.
Velvet finished Slovakian Champion.

2006
In the middle of winter we had a lovely visit of our friends from Denmark: Anne-Therese and René came to take home a puppy - Wadanya Bohemia Horrido, a duaghter of their Benoit´s Tucky Tomster. We took a long walk with our lovely Bassets in the winter landscape.

A new book about Bassets in the field came into the world in Italy: our contribution is about czech experience in field trials. The book consists of many articles from different authors from european lands, who have any experience with Bassets as working dogs. Article about obedience with Bassets wrote our dannish friend Anne-Therese Borch. The book is (yet only) in italian language and you can order it on http://www.showdog.it/portale/content/view/203/0/ . In May 2006 we were succesfull both in austrian Salzburg and czech Litomeřice International Dog Shows. CACIBs for both Velvet and Victoria were good promises for their future International Championships. Velvet was handled by Fanda and Vicky by Eva. Eva and Vicky won their first CACIb ever! Velevt had great day at Salzburg show: besides CACIB and BOB from judge Mrs.M.Kavcic he won 4th place at Group competition. By his winning he completed his International Championship FCI, while Vicky has to wait till next year! Velvet became a new austrian and german VDH Champion. At the end of 2006 we were happy owners of several new champion certificates.
Our daughter Eva competed with Velvet in Junior Handling very succesfull this year: Salzburg finale 5th place Litoměřice finale 3rd place, Tulln Bundessiegerschau finale 3rd place and at the end in České Budějovice she won 2nd place under judge Mrs.Holmerová. besides Junior Handling the couple Eva+Velvet did well also in the show ring. During her holiday stay in Denmark Eva handled Welsh Corgi for our friends Bossens.
It was Eva who convinced us, that Victoria is an excellent show dog! After hand home training Vicky was handled by Fanda on World Dog Show in Poznan, Polen, and she made well: 2nd place in working class under Mrs.Barbara Larska (kennel z Gangu Dlugich) in competition of 10 bitches.
In June with help of Anne-Therese we found a new home for young male Falco, tha I didnt found to be a good male for my breeding. In the family of Tina and Ole Christensen he becomes a third son, because sons Marc and Philip will teach him to play football with them!
One sad new is that Fanfan Bohemia Horrido run over raibow bridge in September 2006 being 11 years old. He was unforgettable son of our Blackie - and we and especially his owners Hana and Jiří Marušák miss him very much!
In December 2006 I resigned for membership in Basset klub CR board after 15 years of hard work on Basset-telegraf, Bassetiade since 1998 and many club and special shows organisation (with help of Jana and Karel Čáp). The reason was that I was treated un-fair by certain members of the board, while most of the others did still agree with this treatment or didnt know at all what is this about. I didnt want to sit at one table with this people as I used to have another opinions last years on many things.
After 15 years of my activities in breeding, showing and judging, keeping allways in my mind, that we have the same hobby and we all should share joy and friendship, I have bitter experience: First enemy appears as soon as one´s dog winns first time, and another enemies appear as soon as one become a judge and judge at first show.
Eva prepared our new web site design and also a new New Years Wishing Card in the same style!
2007
In April Eva brought a new dog into our kennel: bitch of Braque d´Auvergne named Jazz od Smutne ricky (breeder S.Hanacek), called Paca!! She was soo small and lovely!
In June Judita celebrated her 10th birthday. We were happy that she recovered very well from her bad inflamation of neck spine, that she had one year ago. It was the preparate Teufelskrallen, that helped her in recovering, recomanded us our austrian friend Eva-Maria Kralicek. In the begining of July we had our traditional party "Hory Doly" with our best friends. There were again a lot of people and we had a lot of fun.
On the occation of visit of Anne-Therese and Rene from Danmark we had a small meeting of puppies from our litter W, which are one and half year old now. Wannabe and her owner Elisabeth couldn't come. So at least Winston of Mrs. Ditrtova and Wadanya owned by our danish friends came and said hello to mum Victoria, uncle Velvet and grandmother Judita. Two dogs more of our two friends from DK came to our party - dark boy "Bay Biscuit Its So Floppy" called "Pampas"- owned by Anne-Therese imported from Argentina- and her bicolor granddaughter to Atilla, born in Norway - "Skindeeps Jedburg Alba".
In August we brought a new member of our pack - Zofia Queen´s Hermelín, a puppy bitch from the kennel of V.Křížová. Parents are Ich Leicester v.Hollandheim and ICH Chipsi Queen´s Hermelín.
We had a trip to castle Trosky with our basset friends on the last weekend in August...and nice evening at Podhura.
 
At the International Dog Show Victoria got her last CACA and CACIB and Crufts 2008 Qualification from the judge K.Reinsinger, A. She completed by that International championship FCI and Czech Club Championship.
In October we had another succesfull show in Austria – Club Show at Burg Lockenhaus under the judge Mr.Gillanders from England. We showed all 3 littlemates from V litter: Velvet, Victoria and Viking. The judge liked most Velvet and gave him excellent 1, CACA in champion class. Being club members Velvet won also the title Club Winner – for second time, while first time it was in 2005. Now we are proud to have challenge cup „Otto-Ehrenpreiss“ again at home for one whole year. The only names that appear on the cup since beginning are Velvet – 2005, Timur – 2006 and Velvet – 2007. By that way the Challenge stays „in the family“yet and we hope it stays so. We also won cup for Best couple (Victoria and Viking) and Best Breeding Group ( Viking, Victoria and Timur).

In November Jazz won Best Puppy Bitch of the Day at the International Show in Nitra, Slowakia. At another shows in Croatia and Austria later in November and December she won her first BOB – at the end of the year she has allready 4 BOB and 4 certificates for Junior Championships of Croatia and Austria.
On ocassion of 15th universary of our kennel we purchased a post card designed by our son Jan. It is a limited issue of Collector´s Club www.mastna.com (also a web page of excellent painter Mrs. Marta Mastna, who is specialised on animals art). On the post card there are: above from left Viking, Victoria, Velvet, in the middle Velvet, Atilla on logo of our kennel, on the right Judita. Down in the middle is our last litter from 2005: Wannabe, Wadanya a Winston. On the background there is a wonderfull place near our home: former quarry in the forests below the medieval castle Lipnice nad Sázavou.
