History
If you want to know more about our history,
lets see how it was from the very beginning!
Before 1991
As you can see from the pictures,
every year we had one member of our family more:
1986 - Arabela Oliver
1987 - son Jan
1988 - Barnabasch v.d. Katzenhause
1989 - daugter Eva
1990 - Berta Burke
1991 - Benoit's Twyla Tanyana
but this is not the very end at all....
Before fall of "Iron curtain" we got our fisrt experiences and knowledges with bassets.
Theoreticaly we were ready - foreign literature about bassets and first contacts with
breeders paersuaded us not to let the choice of our first puppy to a piece of luck!
In the decision helped us Mrs. L.Zatloukalová. We decided to have our first puppy right after our wedding. In July in 1986 arrived in Závidkovice our first bitch ever - tricolor Arabela Oliver (born 1986). She was from the czech kennel - Austrian dam and polish sire. With her we got our first practical experiences - feeding, training, hunting examinations. "Bára" was very heavy in type on that time, she had very expressive head and colour, however her front was not good - that was
the reason why we didn't estabilished our breeding on her!
The second dog - male Barnabasch v d. Katzenklause (born 1988), import from Austria,
had his front bad as well. But he was very interesting because of his pedigree.
From sire's side - line Tal - E - Ho's, it wasn't much common in that times in Europe!

Our effort for holding Tal -E - Ho's line led us to obtain a bitch for Barnabas
- a daughter of Leu v. Herzogtum Luelich. He carried the line and he was used
in Poland and that time in Czechoslovakia. So in the beginning of 90's we bought
Berta Burke(born 1988). Berta completed our idea of perfect bassethound very closely.
She had a lot of succes on the shows. But shame was that no puppy was bred on her in our kennel!

Good news: In the end of 1991 we obtain a puppy from Danemark - Benoit's Twyla Tanyana.
With her the history of Bohemia Horrido begins!
