12.1.2011 - BOOK "BASETI" WAS PUBLISHED!!!
Second edition of Iva's successful book was published in the begining of this year. Book is about all breeds of bassets, although main part of it is dedicated to basset hounds. Book was published in czech language and we are working hard on german version.
The book contains a lot of new photos and drawings by an artist Marta Mastna. It has 182 pages, eight colourful pages, 108 black and white photos and 56 drawings with comment of the new standard. Book is very interesting for nonczech readers due to huge amoung of perfect drawigs and photos.
Many thanks to publishing house Canistr for their work on my book.

26.12.2011 - Last girl available
Brandy is the last available girl from our current litter (born 10.10.2011, Ch.Woferlow Border Patrol x Ch.Ynes Bohemia Horrido). She is matring very well for shows. But we do not lay her show career as a condition for future owners.

26.12.2011 - Beefeater went to his new home
On Monday Beefeater left to Denmark with his new owner Lise Christensen. His dog company will be pack of St.Bernards :)
25.12.2011 - Viking B.H. went over the rainbow bridge
We got very sad message from our friend Vera Otevrelova on the Christmas Eve - Viking joined his dog family in heaven in age nearly 9 years.

20.12.2011 - First puppies went to their new homes
First trio left our home before Christmas. We wish to our puppies and their new owners all the best not only for the New Year but for their whole life!
ON THE LEFT: Blanche went to Slovenia, where she is going to live with new owners Bernarda Perić, Damijan Gotlin and their pack of great danes.
ON THE RIGHT: Budweiser went to Kladno with his new owner Mr. Kucera.
Since Friday Blackjack is training in Liberec his new family, who came for next Bohemia Horrido puppy. Their first was Jordan Bohemia Horrido.

20.11.2011 - Judging in Moscow
It was great honour and joy to judge Basset Hounds and Bloodhounds on a club show in Moscow. I was accompanied by my husband on this journey. Russian club was great host. Thanks to their care our first visit to Moscow and Russia ever was combined with visit of Tretjakovskaya Gallery, Kremlin and even ballet performance – premiere in new reconstructed Bolshoy Theatre. We very delighted. I have to praise russian breeding of Basset Hound and Bloodhound. My winning dogs are of comparable quality to ones, that I have seen to win in show rings in Europe elsewhere. The club has excellent breeders and great enthusiasist in the breed. One can not omit the quality of handling in the ring, it was very often a case of very young people, who handled like proffesionals. I am sure, that the breed has good future in Russia and wish to russina breeders to keep it. I want to thank for the care, that was given to me and my husband during our stay in Moscow, and big thank for everybody, who showed me their beautifull dogs.

3.11.2011 - Our Velvet crossed the rainbow bridge
On Thursday afternoon our beloved Velvet died in age of 8,5 years. He joined forever his mother Judita and other our friends, that we keep in our thoughts and we will never forget. Each of them was very special for us - we will always remember Velvet as a friend, who spread his joy of life with everyone every single second. A piece of him and his joy stays with us by his daughter Ynes.
Dear Velvet, thank you for the wonderful 8 years you gave us!

10.10.2011 - Basset Hound puppies were born
Ynes gave birth to 7 puppies on Monday - 4 females and 3 males.
For the very first time a bicolor female was born in our kennel. Sire of the litter is Ch. Woferlow Border Patrol.

We spend the weekend together with Jana and Karel Cap, who again entrusted "Turbo-Kate" (Catherina Bohemia Gorgony) to Eva for handling. Catherine got VDH Andwartschaft in working class on Saturday, on Sunday Kate got again VDH and also rCAC as the second best female of the breed.

Ynes got her third CACIB in Germany, by this title she ended up her prematernal show ride. We plan her first litter in autumn of this year.
Fiesta has new loving home
After long hesitating we have found a new home for our Fiesta, as we dont want to try to breed on her anymore. She has now a beautifull pet home in the family of dr.Rohde in Crivitz, Vorpommerend, Germany, what was a home of Sebastian Bohemia Horrido, who died tragically last year.

15 bassets from many countries of Europe were entered ( Czech, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Hungary and France). Ynes did very well in this high competition and was choosen as the Best of Breed by the judge T. Jakkel!
Jazz show comeback! After 3 months of break she is coming back to the show rings and does well, during this weekend she became Slovakian Grand Champion!

16.4.2011 - Hunting exams
On 16th April 2011 Ynes passed hunting exams with 2nd prize and 186 points. Exams were international organised by Hound club of the Czech republic. Many thanks to judges V.Herian, P.Stangl and J.Nejedly.
1.4.2011 - Braque d'Auvergne puppies were born
Today the very first litter of Braque d'Auvergne was born in our kennel. Jazz became mother of one girl, who is already reservated.
12.3.2011 - Crufts - Birmingham, Great Britain
Crufts ... show of legends. It is said that who hasn't been at Crufts, he doesn't know what a real dog show is. History of this show is very interesting - already 120 years passed since the very first event of Crufts was organised. Therefor we are talking about one of the most tradditional shows in the world at all, maybe even the most traditional. For comparism: FCI is celebrating its 110 years from its foundation and none of the shows under its patronage can brag of such a long tradition as Crufts. Crufts takes place at N.E.C. in Birmingham, it is about two hours of driving to north-west from London. Oversea exhibitors, also from Europe, have an opportunity to show here only for last few years, after the caranteen condition has been changed. Until that time, it was nearly impossible to show an oversea dog, beacuse of half year long caranteene.
Anyways the number of versea dogs is vey low and in adition I think were the very first exhibitors of bassethounds from the Czech Republic. We found out that many well known faces from Europe came to Crufts only to watch as they do each year, without showing their dogs.
Together there were 156 bassethound entries and we could count participants from abroad on fingers of one hand. Thoungh it s necessary to have a nomination for this show, we were upset by very different qualities of presented dogs. But when we talk about 156 entries no wonder that we cold see dogs of varry qualities. Some of them were hardly excellent and some were just stunning.
Judge A.Wood judged each dog very carefully in stand and movement as well and touched the anatomy of each dog. In difference from our countries you ill not get any critics, judge will pick up five best dogs and does not comment the rest. Judge will only record a short comment of the first placings which is later published in cynologic press. We were very inquiry if threats of some breeders from judging according to the new standard, which is valid in England since 2009, will come true. None of those threats was cinfirmed. Typy and more or less quality dogs were placed among top 5 in each class.
We found bitches more higher in quality than dogs, which is usual.
Our Ynes was shown in yearling class, which is something like our intermediate class. There were 12 females in the class, but judge Wood did not pick up Ynes among top 5.

Eva also handled the other dogs: bassethound Catherine Bohemia Gorgony (own. Jana Čápová), who was 2nd in her class. In the final competitions she handled Tina Trading Cherry Stone (breeder and owner Elena Marianovskaya, Russia) in the competition of breeding groups, Tina Trading won the 1st place!
